Ford Endeavour 2025 : After a brief hiatus that left enthusiasts yearning, Ford has announced its thunderous return to the Indian market with the all-new 2025 Endeavour. The American automaker’s flagship SUV is set to make landfall by Diwali this year, bringing with it a complete overhaul that promises to shake up the premium off-roader segment. Industry insiders who’ve caught glimpses of the new model during testing phases describe it as “the most capable factory-built off-roader to ever wear the Blue Oval badge in India.”
Ford Endeavour 2025 Return of the King: Ford’s Strategic Comeback
Ford’s exit from the Indian market in 2021 left a void that competitors rushed to fill. However, the company’s decision to return with a bang through the Endeavour suggests a carefully calibrated strategy. “We never really left India in spirit,” reveals Rahul Gautam, newly appointed Director of Ford’s Indian Operations. “We were regrouping, reassessing, and planning a comeback that would make a definitive statement. The 2025 Endeavour is that statement.”
The company is adopting a different approach this time around. Rather than establishing full-scale manufacturing operations immediately, Ford will initially bring the Endeavour as a CBU (Completely Built Unit) from its Thailand facility, with plans to transition to local assembly at a partner facility in Tamil Nadu by mid-2026.
“This allows us to reenter with our best foot forward,” explains Gautam. “No compromises on quality or features while we reestablish our dealer network and service infrastructure.”
Brutally Handsome: Design That Commands Attention
The 2025 Endeavour bears little resemblance to its predecessor, having undergone a complete redesign that combines aggressive masculinity with unexpected sophistication. The front fascia features a massive grille with “FORD” emblazoned across it in bold letters, flanked by C-shaped LED headlamps that seamlessly blend into the grille outline.
The profile reveals a more upright stance with squared-off wheel arches housing massive 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain rubber. Body cladding is more pronounced, especially around the lower sections, providing actual protection rather than mere aesthetic value. The rear end sports vertical LED taillamps connected by a light bar, with dual exhaust tips integrated into a silver skid plate.
“We wanted to create something that looks like it could conquer a mountain even when it’s parked at a mall,” notes Lisa Chen, Lead Exterior Designer. “Every line serves a purpose – whether it’s aerodynamics, protection, or visual presence.”
Luxury Meets Utility: Cabin That Defies Categorization
Step inside the 2025 Endeavour and you’re greeted by an interior that skillfully straddles the line between premium luxury and utilitarian toughness. The dashboard is dominated by a 15.5-inch portrait-oriented touchscreen that controls most vehicle functions, complemented by a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster.
“The materials we’ve chosen reflect the dual nature of this vehicle,” explains interior designer James Wilson. “The upper sections feature soft-touch materials, genuine leather, and open-pore wood trim. But as you move downward, you’ll notice more durable, easier-to-clean surfaces that can handle the mud from your boots after a day of off-roading.”
Seating remains a three-row affair, but with significantly improved comfort and flexibility. The second row now slides and reclines electrically, while the third row can accommodate adults more comfortably than before. Ford claims an industry-leading 32 storage compartments throughout the cabin, including a massive center console that can refrigerate beverages.
“It’s essentially two vehicles in one,” notes automotive journalist Vikram Singh after a brief preview. “During the week, it’s as comfortable and tech-laden as any luxury SUV. Come weekend, you can hose down the rubber floor mats after a muddy adventure without worry.”
Heart of a Beast: Powertrain Options That Deliver
Under the hood, the 2025 Endeavour offers two powertrain options. The base variant features a 2.0-liter bi-turbo diesel engine producing 213 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. This is paired with Ford’s 10-speed automatic transmission that’s been recalibrated for Indian driving conditions.
The headline-grabber, however, is the first-ever hybrid option – a 3.0-liter V6 turbo-petrol paired with an electric motor, delivering a combined output of 367 bhp and a staggering 675 Nm of torque. Ford claims this powertrain delivers diesel-like efficiency with petrol-like refinement and significantly more power.
Both engines come with Ford’s advanced 4×4 system featuring a two-speed transfer case, locking rear differential, and up to seven selectable drive modes including specific settings for sand, mud, rock, and snow.
“The off-road capability is simply phenomenal,” enthuses off-road instructor Arun Varma, who participated in early testing. “The articulation, the approach and departure angles, the water wading capacity – they’ve thought of everything. This isn’t just an SUV that can go off-road; it’s a purpose-built off-roader that happens to be luxurious on-road.”

Tech That Enhances: Beyond Mere Gadgetry
The technology package on the 2025 Endeavour focuses on enhancing capability rather than just adding bells and whistles. The Pro Trail Control system essentially works as an off-road cruise control, managing throttle and braking over challenging terrain so drivers can focus on steering.
Trail Turn Assist reduces turning radius on tight trails by braking the inside rear wheel, while the 360-degree camera system includes dedicated off-road views showing obstacle clearance and wheel position relative to obstacles.
Ford Endeavour 2025 Pricing and Market Positioning: Premium But Attainable
While official pricing will be announced closer to launch, Ford has indicated that the 2025 Endeavour will be positioned as a premium offering, starting around ₹45 lakh and going up to ₹65 lakh (ex-showroom) for the fully-loaded hybrid variant.
“We’re not chasing volume here,” clarifies Gautam. “The new Endeavour represents our commitment to bringing global Ford products to discerning Indian customers who value capability, luxury, and uniqueness in equal measure.”
Pre-bookings are expected to open by late August, with deliveries commencing in October, just in time for the festive season. For off-road enthusiasts and luxury SUV buyers alike, the wait for Ford’s prodigal son appears well worth it.
